People were bringing children to Jesus so that he would bless them. But the disciples scolded them. When Jesus saw this, he grew angry and said to them, "Allow the children to come to me. Don't forbid them, because God's kingdom belongs to people like these children. I assure you that whoever doesn't welcome God's kingdom like a child will never enter it." Then he hugged the children and blessed them.
At ZUMC we value Children participating in Worship!
Children learn a lot by participating in the service through singing, praying, and listening to the sermons. To help young minds to listen, there are Children's Activity Clipboards in the back of each Worship space. Children can draw or sculpt what they are seeing & hearing. They can do activity sheets and puzzles, and they can even write notes to the Pastor & Children's Director!
Children K-6th grades meet in the Children's Room at 10am for an engaging video-based curriculum called "What's in the Bible."
Parents of Children: The Gathering Sunday school class for parents will resume this week January 2nd in the Office Conference room. We will be watching and discussing the Bible Project video on the Book of Joshua.
We offer "Kidventure" or a similar Day-event once a quarter. This is a fun day-event for children and parents to hang out, enjoy some fun activities, eat some great food, and learn a little bit from God's Word. Our next event will be in February.
The success of our Children's Ministry depends on volunteers. Volunteering is easy and fun! We will provide everything needed so that serving isn't an overwhelming commitment. Please contact Allison Milliron to be put on the volunteer rotation (225-975-1357). Click HERE to fill out the Parent Survey with your serving preferences.
